- Scorpion hex head self-drilling screws comply with ASTM C1513 for cold-formed steel framing connections.Salt spray tested according to ASTM B117 for 1000 hours; 15 cycles Kesternich per DIN 50018; no red rust. Approved for use in non-coastal areas with all pressure treated lumbers including ACQ.
- Use a standard screw gun with a depth-sensitive nose piece and use extra caution when installing with an impact driver. Suggested screw gun specification for optimal performance - Size #8 - #10 up to 2,500 RPM.
- The Wafer Head is fully seated when the top of the head is flush with the work surface.
- The fastener must penetrate beyond the metal a minimum of three full threads.
- Overdriving my result in fastener failure or strip out of the work surface.
- For attaching cement board to heavy gauge metal 43 mil (18ga) or thicker.
